    Knowledge

AI trends in Germany: what is in demand.

Every week we look at how often people in Germany search for the AI tools in our directory and how often their Wikipedia articles are viewed. The figures show what many people are interested in right now, not which tool is best.

    Updated weekly

The figures come from Google Trends (search interest in Germany, last 7 days compared with the 7 days before) and from the Wikimedia Foundation’s view counts for the German and English Wikipedia articles. We update the page once a week, together with the AI weekly review.

    How we measure

    On the rise

    Tools gaining ground right now.

At least 25% more search interest or Wikipedia views than the previous week. For Wikipedia we count the German and English articles together or the German article alone, as it reflects interest in German-speaking countries. For Google we only count tools with enough search interest, for Wikipedia only from 300 views a week, so small random swings do not show up as trends.

    Wikipedia

    Most read about.

Views of the Wikipedia articles over the last 7 days, German and English combined. This also covers tools whose name is ambiguous on Google and shows what people read up on in more depth.

    Method

    How the figures are made.

    Google Trends

Search interest in Germany for the tool’s name, summed per week and compared with the same query for ChatGPT. We retrieve the data through a service provider (SerpApi) and leave out the current, incomplete day.

    Wikipedia

Views by people (excluding detected bots) according to Wikimedia, for the German and English articles. The figures appear with a delay of 2 to 3 days; we use the last 7 days with data.

    Ambiguous names

If a tool is named like an everyday word (such as Make, Gamma or Cursor), Google also counts every other search for it. For these tools we show no Google value, only Wikipedia views.

What the figures do not say

How good a tool is, whether it is privacy-compliant and whether it suits your company. We assess that tool by tool in the AI tools directory.

vona is not affiliated with the vendors mentioned and receives no money for mentions or links. Data sources: Google Trends (retrieved via SerpApi) and the Wikimedia Pageviews API.

    Questions

    Frequently asked questions.

    Why is ChatGPT always 100?
Google Trends only provides relative values. To make the tools comparable, we query each tool together with ChatGPT and convert all values to ChatGPT = 100. ChatGPT is by far the most searched AI tool in Germany, which makes it a suitable reference.
    Why are some tools missing?
We only show reliable figures. Many specialised tools are searched so rarely that Google Trends can hardly tell them apart from zero, and not every tool has a Wikipedia article. You will find all tools in the AI tools directory.
How often is the page updated?
Once a week. Our weekly run collects the figures before the AI weekly review; we publish them after reviewing them.
    May I use the figures?

What the tools can do, what they cost, how they handle data.

More than 100 AI tools, assessed by us: features, prices, where the vendor is based and data protection at work. Every tool page also shows current interest in Germany.

    Consulting

Which AI tool fits your workflows?

In demand does not mean the right fit. We work out with you which tools solve your tasks, what they cost to run and how to introduce them in a privacy-compliant way.
