Lavender
Chrome extension that scores sales emails as you write, suggests improvements and drafts personalized messages for outreach.
What it does
Lavender runs as a Chrome extension in Gmail and Outlook 365 and rates your emails while you write. You get a score, concrete suggestions and tips on how the message looks on a phone. An AI writer produces first drafts, and a personalization assistant shows details about the recipient and their company. The extension also works inside Salesloft, Outreach, HubSpot, Apollo, Groove and Gong. The separate product Ora researches contacts from a CSV list or Salesforce, writes sales emails and sends them on its own.
Who it suits
Sales teams and freelancers who write many prospecting and follow-up emails and want more replies. Sales managers use the team dashboard to see how their people write and coach them in a targeted way.
Data protection for businesses
Data is stored on AWS in the US; the vendor does not offer EU data hosting. Lavender uses OpenAI language models as well as its own models. According to the vendor, emails are deleted after analysis and the raw text is not used to train the language models. The privacy policy does, however, allow uploaded emails to be used for product improvement and third-party data to be used for de-identified training; the vendor does not describe how to switch this off. The vendor does not mention a data processing agreement. Lavender is SOC 2 Type 2 certified. Team, Growth and Enterprise plans are available for businesses.
Limits
The free plan includes only five analyses and five personalizations a month. Chrome is the only browser the vendor names. Ora costs $500 per agent per month. Check automated recipient research against data protection rules before using it.
