LANAKILA Birdy
For sportswear maker LANAKILA, Birdy brings together what used to be spread across several online stores, phone calls and WhatsApp threads: orders, inventory, suppliers and pickups — in a native iOS app with middleware. Each role sees only its own tasks, push notifications replace ad-hoc coordination, and a QR scan keeps inventory in the online store up to date.

The middleware
- Online store integration
- Secured API connections to all online stores: orders, inventory and delivery status are available in one place.
- Warehouse management
- Multiple warehouse locations with contacts and inventory per item and variant.
- Suppliers & bills of materials
- Suppliers, their contacts and products, and the bills of materials for the company’s own items are maintained centrally.
- Users & roles
- Team, producers and couriers are given roles and permissions — the app shows only what belongs to each role.
- QR codes and barcodes
- A unique, print-ready code is generated automatically for every item and every variant.
- Targeted notifications
- The middleware decides which push notification goes to whom — instead of messages to everyone.
- Complete history
- From incoming order through production, release for pickup and shipping to the updated inventory, every step can be traced.
The app
- Smart filter
- Orders from all stores are brought together; producers see only the line items they manufacture.
- Courier pickup
- When an order is finished, the courier receives a push notification with the address; the status is updated on pickup.
- Shipping status
- The shipping status in the online store can be changed right from the app — without logging in to the store backend.
- Delivery notes
- Producer and warehouse print delivery notes from the app.
- Scanner
- A scan at a trade-show sale or on goods receipt updates inventory in the online store; stocktaking is done by smartphone.
