What it does
DeepL translates texts and entire documents – Word, PowerPoint, PDF – and keeps the layout. Glossaries let you define how technical terms and product names are translated; in the Business plan a translation memory remembers sentences already translated. DeepL Write suggests rephrasings and a suitable tone for your own texts. Extensions for browsers, Office and Google Workspace bring translation to wherever you write.
Who it suits
Anyone who works in several languages regularly: website copy, quotes, support replies, contracts for understanding. In German especially, the result often sounds more natural than with all-round assistants.
Data protection for businesses
In the free service, texts may be used for training for a limited time – unsuitable for confidential content. In the Pro plans, texts are stored only briefly for translation and not used for training; processing runs on servers in the European Economic Area. A data processing agreement is available on request.
Limits
Character and file limits per plan. The Pro version of DeepL Write costs extra and supports only some languages. For legal texts, a translation does not replace professional review.
