vanadio
AI quoting software from Berlin for metal traders and processors that reads inquiries, matches items to articles and calculates quotes.
What it does
vanadio reads customer inquiries from the company mailbox, including scanned PDFs. It recognises materials and dimensions under EN, DIN, ASTM and JIS and matches each line item to your article master. Along the way it checks stock, mechanical properties, chemical analysis, surface finish and certificates. It calculates prices using your own rules, and when a grade is out of stock it suggests a suitable substitute. For items you don’t stock, it asks suppliers for prices. You can send the finished quote and create it in your ERP, such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics or Odoo. vanadio flags anything unclear, and your sales team decides what goes out.
Who it suits
Metal traders and processors that handle many inquiries and long tender lists, where inside sales still types up and prices line items by hand.
Data protection for businesses
The vendor says data is processed on servers in the EU. Some transfers to third countries are covered by EU Standard Contractual Clauses. vanadio lists Google Cloud, OpenAI and Dropbox as sub-processors. Pilot and roll-out contracts come with a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR. Your data improves only your own results; the vendor uses it for models serving other customers only with your explicit consent. ISO 27001 certification is in preparation. There are no public plans, and every contract is negotiated individually.
Limits
The tool is built only for the metal industry. The vendor does not publish prices. Setup needs your article master, price lists and read access to the mailbox, and it takes about two weeks.
