Activepieces
Open-source platform for workflow automation and AI agents with over 760 integrations, available as a Frankfurt-hosted cloud or self-hosted.
What it does
Activepieces connects apps and services into automated sequences called flows. Ready-made building blocks (“pieces”) exist for more than 760 applications such as Slack, HubSpot, Stripe and GitHub, and they are open source under the MIT licence. AI agents handle multi-step tasks that you describe in plain language; at critical points you can add a human approval step. Through an MCP server, assistants such as Claude or Cursor can trigger your flows directly. You can add your own keys for AI providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini or AWS Bedrock.
Who it suits
Teams that want to automate routine work between their tools while keeping control over the infrastructure. You either use the hosted cloud or run Activepieces with Docker or Kubernetes on your own servers, even fully cut off from the internet if needed.
Data protection for businesses
The cloud runs in Frankfurt; with self-hosting, data stays on your own infrastructure. The vendor provides a data processing agreement on request. The vendor does not disclose whether content is used to train AI models; for AI steps, the terms of the respective model provider also apply. Credentials are stored encrypted. Single sign-on is available from the Team plan, SCIM and audit logs in the Ultimate plan. According to the vendor, SOC 2 certification is still in progress.
Limits
The cloud plans are billed in credits: a standard run costs one credit, AI steps with large models up to 20. Self-hosting requires your own technical know-how for operation, updates and security.
