Microsoft Copilot Studio

Microsoft's low-code platform for building AI agents and workflows and deploying them in Teams, Copilot or on your website.

What it does

Copilot Studio is a low-code interface in the browser where you build AI agents and automated processes. You describe the agent in plain language, connect knowledge sources such as SharePoint or documents, and give it tools via connectors, for example to create records. Finished agents run in Teams, Microsoft Copilot or on your website. You can choose between GPT and Claude models; workflows can include approval steps by people.

Who it suits

Companies that already work with Microsoft 365 and want to set up internal helpers – for HR questions, say – or customer chatbots without writing their own code. You will usually need IT for licences and admin settings.

Data protection for businesses

With an EU billing address and environments in an EU region, your tenant falls under the EU Data Boundary. Still check the admin options “Move data across regions” and flex routing: they allow processing outside the EU. Claude models are excluded from the EU Data Boundary and switched off by default in the EU. The data processing agreement (Microsoft DPA) applies through the Product Terms. Microsoft does not use your inputs to train its foundation models; there is nothing to switch off. Suitable plans are the credit packs or a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence.

Limits

Costs depend on credit consumption and are hard to estimate in advance; unused credits expire at the end of the month. The trial licence does not let you publish agents. The tool was developed and tested mainly in English.
