ImageToSTL

What it does

ImageToSTL creates a textured 3D model from one photo or from several views of an object (front, back, left, right), which you download as GLB or OBJ. You choose between the quality levels Basic, Pro and Ultra; finished models are kept in your “My Works” library. There is also a free relief tool: it converts PNG, JPG or WebP directly in the browser into an STL heightmap in which bright areas are raised – suitable for logos, coins or lithophanes. Converters between STL, OBJ, PLY, GLB and 3MF complete the offer.

Who it suits

3D printing hobbyists, makers and small workshops who need a printable model from a photo quickly without modelling it themselves.

Data protection for businesses

The website names neither the operator, its registered location nor server locations. Hosting runs on Cloudflare, and AI processing uses the service fal.ai. The vendor does not commit to EU data hosting and does not mention a data processing agreement. The vendor does not say whether uploaded images are used for training, so there is no setting to switch it off. There are no business plans. The relief tool and converters work locally in the browser and are the more data-friendly option.

Limits

AI models are not delivered directly as STL; you have to convert them before slicing. AI generation requires an account and credits, and purchased credits are non-refundable. Results depend heavily on the quality of the photos.
