Voxnoto
Transcription service from Lithuania that turns audio, video and online meetings into text with speaker labels, translations and summaries.
What it does
Voxnoto turns audio and video files into text, with timestamps and speaker labels. The tool detects the language itself or you set it; the vendor says 99 languages are supported. Transcripts can be summarised, translated into 22 languages and exported as TXT or SRT subtitles. A meeting bot joins Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Webex. The desktop app for macOS and Windows also records calls directly on your computer without a bot.
Who it suits
Individuals and small teams who need to transcribe interviews, meetings or videos, or create subtitles, without rolling out a large meeting platform.
Data protection for businesses
The service is hosted by Hetzner in Finland, within the EU. Transcription runs on a self-hosted model. For summaries and translations, the text is sent to an external language model provider that Voxnoto does not name. According to the vendor, uploaded content is not used for training, so there is nothing to switch off. Under the terms of service, business customers can sign a data processing agreement. The vendor does not list a team or business plan with a fixed price; companies can buy on invoice or under a separate agreement.
Limits
The free plan covers only 10 minutes a day and has no meeting bot. Voxnoto does not process links from YouTube, Google Drive or Dropbox. The prices given on the website are inconsistent. Check names and technical terms in transcripts yourself.
