Replit
Browser-based development environment where an AI agent builds web and mobile apps from your description, including database and hosting.
What it does
Replit is a browser-based development environment with a built-in AI agent. You describe an application in plain language, and the agent plans it, writes the code and tests it. Database, authentication, hosting and monitoring are built in, so you can publish web apps directly. For native iOS and Android apps, the agent prepares the project with Expo, up to submission to the App Store. Besides the browser, there are apps for phones and desktops.
Who it suits
Founders, business teams and agencies who need prototypes or internal tools quickly without setting up their own servers. If you code yourself, you can hand routine work to the agent.
Data protection for businesses
Replit hosts data primarily in Google Cloud data centres in the United States. You can move your workspace to the EU only on the Pro plan; published apps can run in the EU from the Core plan upwards. Replit uses public projects, anonymised, for AI training, but not private projects or Enterprise accounts – so keep confidential work private. The data processing agreement is part of the Enterprise contract, which also includes SSO and audit logs. Replit holds a SOC 2 Type II attestation.
Limits
The plans include only a limited credit for powerful AI models, US$20 a month on Core. On the free plan, a published app expires after 30 days. Check generated code for bugs and security gaps before going live.
