GPT for Work (Sheets & Excel)
Add-on for Google Sheets and Excel that edits spreadsheets via an AI agent and applies one prompt to thousands of rows at once.
What it does
GPT for Work by Talarian comprises GPT for Sheets, an add-on for Google Sheets, and GPT for Excel for Microsoft Excel. The add-on used to be called “GPT for Sheets and Docs”; according to the vendor, GPT for Work is currently being renamed Autosheet. You describe a task in plain language and an agent carries it out directly in the spreadsheet: writing and fixing formulas, removing duplicates, splitting or merging columns, building pivot tables and charts. For bulk work you apply one prompt to many rows, for example to categorise, translate, extract or research each row with sources. You can choose models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Perplexity and other providers. Through the Autosheet MCP, Claude or ChatGPT can also work on your spreadsheets.
Who it suits
Teams that spend a lot of time in spreadsheets: maintaining product data, enriching lead lists, analysing customer feedback or generating copy for many items at once.
Data protection for businesses
The vendor Talarian is based in Luxembourg but stores data in a Google Cloud data centre in the USA (Iowa). The vendor does not offer EU data hosting. A data processing agreement is available on its website. According to the vendor, inputs are not used to train models. Without your own API key, Talarian logs inputs and outputs: for 30 days for support, up to one year for product improvement, and according to its security FAQ they may be stored for up to five years; with your own key or custom endpoint this logging does not apply. The Business plan adds central administration and your own keys, Enterprise also SAML SSO.
Limits
Results across many rows can contain errors and need spot checks. A subscription covers either Sheets or Excel. Included usage expires monthly; extra usage costs more.
