Clearcove

What it does

Clearcove removes the background from photos and keeps the subject; the AI detects the subject on its own. You export the result at full resolution up to 4K without a watermark, either as a transparent PNG or on a white background. You can cut out several images one after another in a single run, and a zoom view helps you check the edges. The tool runs in the browser, so there is nothing to install.

Who it suits

Small shops, freelancers and marketing teams who need cutout product photos for online shops, marketplaces or presentations without learning a graphics program.

Data protection for businesses

Background removal runs locally on your device first. If that fails, the file is sent to a Hetzner server in Germany and deleted after processing; according to the vendor, content is neither stored permanently nor logged. License checks run through Cloudflare and Lemon Squeezy in the USA. The vendor does not say whether uploaded images are used for training. The vendor does not mention a data processing agreement for Clearcove, and there are no business plans.

Limits

Clearcove is run by a sole proprietor. Even free use requires a license key sent by email; it works on two devices and is checked online at every start. If the license service goes away, the tool no longer starts. The vendor does not state which AI model is used or which file formats and sizes are supported.
